Have you ever had a time in your life when you have lost sight of what it is you are working towards? I mean really felt as if you serve no purpose on this earth? Swirling thoughts of doubt and confusion blinding you to the light of God’s truth?

I know I have. This has happened to me from time-to-time in the past and the only way for me to come out – is reminding myself of His promises.
In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1 Peter 1:6-7 NIV)
What I love about the verses above is that they remind me that even in the hard times, I am honoring Him.
Even when I felt all hope was gone after the loss of my stillborn son, I was still honoring Him.
Even when I felt as if I was the worst mother in the world because I tuned out my children when having a bad day, I was still honoring Him.
Even when the dishes are piling and schooling is falling behind, I am honoring Him.
No matter what type of suffering, grief, or trial you are facing – you are still honoring Him.
Rejoice, sweet momma, that when these hard times come, they are glorifying Jesus and proving the genuineness of your faith. They are giving you a glimpse into your weakness and allowing Him to show His mighty strength in your life.
The next time you are feeling as if you are less-than, I encourage you to do the following:
Stop what you are doing and pray. Submitting our feelings of pain, temptation, and worry to Him will start the process of beginning to see clearly in times of trouble.
Read a scripture that brings you hope. It helps to ask God for a life-verse (if you don’t already have one) to reference and meditate on. You will see how, when you need it the most, it is already there and at work in your heart, life, and circumstance.
Write down a renewed vision. I find in times where I lose sight of my purpose, I am overdue for a new focus and set of goals. This always helps get me back on track with whatever it is I feel like I am losing ground with.
Speak it into existence! Confess your faith and watch it come to life! God’s promises are true; don’t be afraid to speak your faith out loud and while you are doing so you’ll be building it as well! Remember that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
Do a family Bible study to help get your focus back on Jesus! This is always a great way to find a fresh new way to bring God’s Word to the forefront of your mind and heart. And even better, with your beloved family!
Here are a few resources that may just help you continue to walk out your victory and continually keep your sight where it belongs – on Jesus!
