If you come to visit me here at Holy Spirit-led Homeschooling and wonder where I am let me give you a few updates.
1) I’m very pregnant. As in fat, tired, and slow-moving. My body has decided that it is time to nap as much as possible. One day this week I stood for an hour cooking and doing small kitchen jobs. I paid for it afterwards by feeling like I couldn’t walk. I had to just sit for a few hours and read to the kids. The wonderful result is we are getting in tons of read aloud time. Because my incidences of not being able to stand for long periods are increasing, I finally ordered a maternity support belt. I guess since this is my 6th pregnancy it was time to do that. Our weeks are also filling up quick with additional mid-wife appointments. I’m planning a natural water birth at a private birthing center. This is a new experience for me on many levels. I’d love to hear any encouraging water birth experiences.
2.) Free Homeschool Deals. I know, I’ve said it before – the Lord is really doing something spectacular over there. Believe me I work online everyday, even if this blog is at a snail’s pace. For this season all of my creative efforts (in-between naps of course ;)) are going toward running Free Homeschool Deals well. A long-time frugal homeschool friend helps me for about 10 hours per week on the site. There is now a team of 12 full content contributors. And I spend my early morning hours posting homeschool freebies and keeping up on the business end of things. People ask me how I keep up with it and the classic, “how am I doing it all.” I’m just following what Jesus has before me and making the most of each day. This is no more and no less than how I live my entire life…one foot in front of the other, by faith.
For now I’m pausing Beautiful Family Friday here. My goal for now is to still post articles once or twice per week. But I felt in my heart that I needed to share with you where I am, and that I’m not abandoning Holy Spirit-led Homeschooling. I have volumes on my heart like I want too, and need too, share. I’m giving myself grace and recognizing that all things are in the Lord’s good time.
I’ve also heard from readers that they’re having a hard time subscribing to this blog. Sign-up here so you don’t miss a post.
Thank you for your prayers and reading.

Congratulations! Just want to encourage you that water birth is THE best! You are going to love it. 🙂 Home water birth is more comfortable in my experience than going to a birthing center (I did both), but that may just be me. I had two water births, and it was unbelievable how much getting in the water made things so much less painful and FAST. My third birth we realized the pool had a hole in it after I went into labor, so no water birth, and it was grueling. I realized for the first time why women are always screaming on TV while birthing. Lol Anyway, hope all goes well and you enjoy your water birth experience as much as I did mine!
I’m so excited for you! I just had my first water birth in October with baby #5. It was great. I only wish I had gotten in the water sooner because it helped so much. Below is a link to my story:

I had my last two at home, water birth.
Joshua Lee in 2010 http://www.chaosappreciation.com/blog/2010/06/welcome-lil-man-aka-hoss-aka-peanut/
and Abigail Evangeline in 2008 … I thought I had blogged her birth story but I didn’t. It was amazing though. So quiet and peaceful. She nursed while we were still in the water. Then Daddy held her while I dried off and made it into our bed.
Praying for a great experience for you!
My 2 water birth experiences were wonderful. I had to get out of the tub near the end for a few minutes and thought I would die. Once back in, everything was much better. I remember we turned out the lights and lit candles. Hubby kept gently pouring water over the top of my “tummy” and I was able to relax so much better than laboring outside of the tub. I hope your water birth is everything that you want it to be.
Here I am as a mom of many and assumed since you have these great blogs that you must only have a few children! LOL! I know I couldn’t do what you do all by myself. Glad you have help to make it all happen! I pray you are blessed to keep blessing us! 🙂
I agree, the water helps SO much! And having hubby pour water over during a contraction!!! A gentle stream of water is SO soothing and makes it all more bearable!!!
I pray everything goes well!
Anna
Congrats on your 6th wonderful blessing! We have 3 girls & 1 baby boy & hoping for #5 soon:) great to see other moms homeschooling a “large” family lol. Rest as much as you can. I was very sore & tired at the end with my son:)
congrats!!! We had a water birth at home and it was wonderful and we are gearing up for another one in June! It was MUCH quicker as far as the heavy labor and pushing stage, but I don’t know if that was due to better physical condition or the water, but the water definitely took the edge off.
I so much appreciate your honesty, and truly believe that you are doing the right thing by taking it slow. There is a time for everything, as wise King Solomon once said, and a time to pause, and focus on other endeavours, or have babies, is definitely justifiable.
May God bless you as you abide in Him! You are truly an inspiration :-)!
Words cannot adequately describe how much I LOVED my water birth. Since we lived in an apartment at the time we went to a birthing center which was perfectly homey. The didn’t let me get in the water until about half way through dilating and once I was in it was the perfect birthing experience. You will love it!! Take care and thank you for all your hard work on your blog. I enjoy reading.
Praying for you, your sweet baby on the way, and your whole family! I’m so grateful for your ministry through Free Homeschool Deals — we have gotten some amazing resources we would never have known about were it not for your site! Thanks for all your hard work and *enjoy* these weeks of rest and preparation as best you can!
You’re growing a human, remember?! By all means, take it slow. I pray that your water birth is everything you imagine and then some!
