When little ones are learning to count, they need lots of practice. Use this sunflower counting to ten activity for a fun way to practice counting skills.
Kids love to practice counting once they start learning numbers. To our advantage, there are lots of ways to practice counting in the world all around us.
Little ones will count buttons on their clothing, crackers for snacktime, and stuffed animals they play with.
One way I distracted my 3 or 4 year old children in the car was to count things. I was glad that they enjoyed counting houses and cars and people.
This colorful sunflower counting activity is a great practice resource for beginners.
Get started by printing out the two sunflower mats.
You may wish to laminate them so that they will hold up through several uses.
You’ll also need a handful of real sunflower seeds. Your child will place one seed at a time on each flower, counting up to the correct number.
Alternatively to laminating, your child can glue their sunflower seeds to the printed sunflower mat.
