Learning all of the states is tricky, but learning their capitals is tough! Your child will have plenty of practice with these states and capitals quiz sheets.
I had the best geography teacher in seventh grade. She was firm but very kind.
At the beginning of the year, she challenged us to learn all fifty states and their capitals.
It seemed impossible but our teacher worked with us every day until we learned them all.
Learning the states and capitals may not be easy, but practice always helps. These resources will challenge your child in a variety of ways.
The first activity lists all of the states in alphabetical order. Your child will fill in the capital city for each state.
The second activity is the opposite – the capital cities are listed in alphabetical order. Your child will fill in the correct state for each city.
The third activity sheet is set up with numbered states on top and lettered cities on the bottom. Your child will write the corresponding letter (city) beside each state.
The last activity challenges your child to identify states on the map by number.
