Learning to recognize sight words is an important part of reading success. Use this sight word learning activity during your child’s reading lessons.
It is interesting to see how quickly kids learn certain words before they can read.
At McDonald’s, kids don’t need to actually read the word “McDonalds” to know what it says. The same can be said for many other well-known words.
My kids knew that the word on a stop sign said “stop” before they could read the word. They could identify cereal, candy, and video game titles by recognition as well.
This sight word activity will cover many of the most common sight words. Recognizing these words by sight help readers become faster and more efficient.
There are 52 pages in this huge sight word collection.
Each page features a single sight word and different exercises for your child to complete.
The first exercise is tracing. Your child will trace the word several times to start memorizing it.
The next exercises are coloring and writing the sight word.
The final exercise is a fun cut-and-paste activity with each letter of the word.
