Learning to count can be fun if we have practice activities on hand. Practice counting with your little one using this colorful pencil counting mat activity.
There are so many games and activities that are very helpful for counting practice. Using different styles and themes helps keep a child’s interest.
We had fun with edible manipulatives when my kids were learning to count. Goldfish, Cheerios, chocolate chips, and yogurt raisins were their favorites.
Counting mats were another fun way to learn. It isn’t surprising that they loved the candy jar mats the most.
These cute pencil counting mats are sure to be back-to-school favorites with your kids.
This printable includes two different sets of pencil holder mats. One is full color, one is blank so it can be colored and decorated however your child wishes.
The set also includes the “pencils” your child will use to fill their pencil holders. The pencils come in fun, cheerful colors.
To use this activity, have your child choose a mat. They will identify the number and add pencils to the mat until they reach that number.
