This week at the Teach Them Diligently Convention in Nashville I’m speaking about Affording the Homeschool Life – 5/16/13 at 8 p.m. This topic is near and dear to my heart because I want to help families who homeschool fulfill their vision, despite the financial pressure that homeschool families (ours included) face. We’ve kept our homeschool dreams alive through thick and thin. We are still learning daily but I’d love to share more about our journey thus far. I won’t give my entire talk away, but I hope that it encourages families to stay the course. If you’re in Nashville this week come and see me.
Homeschool families are some of the most resourceful and creative people that I know!
I’ve also started the new Affording the Homeschool Life group on Facebook. I thought this would be a nice place for homeschool families to share frugal tips, tricks, and strategies so that we can make it all work. So far there are over 500 families learning and sharing together.
How the group will work:
Each day I’ll post a topic for discussion that will be pinned to the top of the page. You can also post your questions too.
There is a new Affording the Homeschool Life board on Pinterest as well. This board has recipes, ideas, and frugal encouragement added to it often. I’ve just added several resources about canning and raising chickens earlier today. 🙂 Both are topics that I’m still learning.
So, if you’d like to join the conversation, request to be added to the Affording the Homeschool Life group on Facebook.
I’m also speaking on Running a Proverbs 31 Business While Homeschooling – Saturday at 5pm. This is another topic that also ties into my other talk. Many homeschool families take on an entrepreneurial spirit and develop businesses while in these homeschool years. I never thought I’d run and manage a full-time business while homeschooling, yet with the Lord’s help I do it daily! I’m going to share particularly to mothers what running a business while homeschooling looks like, and a few helps to possibly make it work for them.
I’ll see you in Nashville!
Here’s my traveling buddy Amelia and I when we were flying back from TTD last week. She’s a great little flyer!
