This FREE Valentine’s Day sentence writing prompt is a great way to get children in the holiday spirit! It is 3 pages of sentences writing practice using the words “Heart”, “Candy”, and “Love”. These pages can be used for Kindergarten or First grade.
There are three parts to each page.
*The first part, children color the word in and write the word next to it. By doing this they are paying attention to the letters in the word.
*The second part is to use the word in a sentence. This way the are spelling, using creative thinking, and doing hand writing practice.
*The third part, the children draw a picture that has to do with their sentence. This helps them to really understand the definition. Reading back their sentence and drawing a picture also incorporates reading comprehension.
