We use time capsules as a type of snapshot of a certain point in time to look back on. People have used time capsules for a few hundred years.
The oldest known time capsule was laid in a cornerstone of the Massachusetts State House. The notorious Sons of Liberty, Samuel Adams, and Paul Revere, placed it in 1795.
Another famous time capsule was laid at the World’s Fair in New York in 1939. It contains many interesting items and is slated to be opened in 6939 A.D.!
Your child can use these free printable pages to write out all sorts of fun facts. They will record interesting things about themselves, their families, and what is currently in the news.
