Encourage your child to practice number words with this free summertime number word activity.
Summer learning activities are great for keeping skills sharp. Your children will enjoy this activity to practice recognizing and writing number words.
If kids are going to do summer work, it helps to add an element of fun! The swimming pool and beachball theme in this printable is perfect for the season.
There are two parts to this activity – writing and counting.
To get started, gather cardstock paper, laminating sheets, dry-erase markers, and small, colored pom-poms.
Print out your swimming pool cards. It is a good idea to laminate them so they hold up and so you can reuse them.
Separate the pages into individual cards, with one pool on each card.
Choose a pool card and invite your child to trace the number word on the card. Say it aloud with them.
Have your child count out the correct number of “beachballs” for their pool. They can place each beachball in the pool as they count them out.
Your activity cards and pom-poms can easily be stored in a zipper bag.
