Some people really love storms and some don’t like them at all. Like storms or not, you and your children will enjoy this free summer storm unit study.
A big summer storm can move in quickly and take us by surprise. Sometimes we have very little notice before they are upon us.
Storms are powerful and exciting, but they can be scary, too. Have you ever been caught in a big storm?
Strong winds, thunder, and fierce lightning can occur during these storms. Loud claps of thunder can make the whole house shake!
Our children have all sorts of questions when storms happen.
“Why is thunder so loud?
“Where does lightning come from?”
“How do the clouds hold all that rain?”
Find the answers to these questions and many more as you work through this short unit study.
An interesting fact sheet explains all about summer storms, clouds, thunder, lightning, and rain.
Included is a resource page that lists websites and books to supplement your study.
Challenge your child with the question and answer page and fun word search. A page of creative writing prompts about storms will spur their imagination.
