Practicing sight words is important for kindergarten, first, and second-grade students. Use this free sight word search game for your children to practice.
Learning sight words is the best way to improve speed and efficiency in reading.
Memorizing sight words means a reader recognizes words by sight instead of sounding them out. Reading takes much less time and effort.
There are many different ways to practice sight words and memorize them. Games and activities that are entertaining and interesting make practicing fun.
To use your sight word search game, print the pages in the set. Laminate the search page or place it into a protective plastic sleeve.
You can laminate the word cards if you wish. This will be helpful when you use the blank cards because you can change the words often.
Separate all of the cards and place them into a stack. Be sure to have a couple of dry-erase markers on hand.
Invite your child to choose a card from the stack and begin searching the letter bank. They will mark the letters on the word card with a dry-erase marker.
