If you are going through Genesis with your kids use these free printable rainbow templates to teach about Gods promise to never again flood the earth.
Rainbows are truly one of the most incredible and magical things we can see with our eyes in this world. When kids find out what a rainbow really is, besides just beautiful colors in or blue sky they are even more intrigued with them.
A rainbow is actually a “special” phenomenon occurring in nature when it is rainy on one side and sunny n the opposite side.
In the rainbow, we see the colors that are signified by the acronym VIBGYOR (Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red).
When sunlight is spread through the raindrops, the rainbow emerges. Pretty cool, right!?
And guess what? Yu can never ever reach the end of a rainbow, because it moves along with us. Just like Godʻs eternal promise.
In Genesis 6-9, a rainbow first appears at the end of the telling of Godʻs worldwide flood because of the continual evil and wickedness of the mankind.
God caused rainfall for40 days and nights, and when he willed it the rain stopped, resulting in a rainbow appearing in the sky. God gave rainbows their meaning as to remind us of his covenant to never destroy the earth again with a flood.
