Making learning fun is one of the best parts of homeschooling. Add this free phonics learning activity to your phonics lesson plans.
I can spend hours searching for and creating learning activities for our homeschool subjects.
It is priceless to watch my kids engage in an activity and then finally comprehend a concept.
Language arts is one of the subjects I use games and activities for teaching.
This fun phonics game focuses on “er” words. There are two versions of the game featuring “er” in the middle and “er” word endings.
To get started, print the version of the game you would like and its related pages. You’ll also need a die, dry-erase marker, and small manipulatives for game pieces.
Place the game board into a plastic sleeve or laminate it.
Give a copy of the word cards to each child.
Children will take turns rolling the die and moving around the board. Pieces can move in any direction to gather words and mark them off.
There is no “finish” space to this game. The winner is the first person to mark off all of the words on their card.
