My kids love animals. So when they were little, we used a LOT of animals printables, worksheets, and resources to motivate kids with themes they enjoy.
This peacock activity, specifically helps kids with learning sight words. Sight words are:
High-frequency words and phonetically irregular words that kids can master and practice to allow reading fluidity and confidence.
Letʻs face it. Our language isnʻt the easiest. We have silent “e”s and silent “gh”s that just donʻt make sense to the new learner. So, sight words get them familiar with words that just, arenʻt “fair” to new readers.
So, sight words come to the rescue here. Getting kids used to sight words will make a world of difference when kids start reading.
