Some of the most curious insects to investigate are lightning bugs, also called fireflies. Learn all about them in this free fireflies unit study.

Do remember the first time you ever saw fireflies? I can remember it vividly.
The sun had set but it wasn’t completely dark. Among the lower branches of the trees, I noticed faint, glowing twinkles here and there.
I thought it was my imagination at first because it happened so fast. It felt other-worldly!
Even if they have never seen real fireflies, your children can learn all about them. They will discover lots of interesting facts with this unit study!
The first page of the study includes facts and interesting information about fireflies. Your child will learn what makes them glow so brightly!
The second page is a question-and-answer exercise. Your child can choose the correct answers from the word bank at the bottom.
Pages three and four are fun activities your child can do. These pages include a word search and short creative writing prompts about fireflies.
Page five offers a list of additional study materials, such as websites and books. Have some fun with your child as you research more facts about fireflies!
