If your little ones love playing with building blocks, they’ll enjoy this free printable. Use these free build and write activities to practice word building, spelling, and story writing.
My children have always loved playing with Lego blocks.
Sometimes they use the instructions and build the set as intended. Other times they use their imagination and build as their creativity leads them.
They have built castles, cars, forts, robots, farms, and animals, too! My favorite Lego creation they ever built was a space rocket.
These printable activities include several different themes. Choose from farm life, bug life, Valentine’s Day, or St. Patrick’s Day themes.
Each set encourages reading and word-building skills while using blocks to build fine motor skills. Build and write activities include exercises for writing short sentences.
Use the word-building pages and a cup full of Legos to build and spell the words in each set.
The build and write activities first challenge your child to build the words given with blocks. Next, your child can follow the prompts and write short sentences about each word.
Choose from manuscript pages for beginner writers or regular lined pages for children with writing experience.
