Hi my name is Joseph and I am fourteen, soon to be fifteen years old. I have been home educated all my life. My mother who teaches me was also a homeschool graduate. Today I would like to tell you about my experience with CollegePlus.
Just what is CollegePlus, you might ask? In a nutshell, CollegePlus is a program that is allowing me to earn dual credits though my high school years. Lord willing, by the time I graduate from high school I will also have a bachelor’s degree.
From their website:
“CollegePlus is a Christian company that creates customized dual credit and bachelor’s degree programs for students, based on their personality, learning style, and life purpose, then integrates personal coaching and mentoring to empower students to reach their educational and life goals, without the time constraints and debt burden of traditional college.”
“Distance learning is gaining popularity across the US, growing by almost 20% each year. CollegePlus students use a unique system to earn their bachelor’s degree through a blend of CLEP and other exams, online classes, and onsite courses, depending on what their major requires.”
I have a wonderful CollegePlus mentor/coach who works with me via skype every couple of weeks. The coaches are specifically matched to each student based on their similar interests, learning styles and pursuits. Not only is my coach my mentor and guide but he has become a friend to me as well!
Because I am one of the younger students to be in CP my family and I are taking it at a slightly slower pace. That is part of the beauty of this program. If I wanted to be a full time student and get through CP at a much speedier rate, I am free to do so. But, right now we are starting at a more relaxed pace. Even so, I already have had the experience of taking my first CLEP exam and passing, earning me SIX college credits.
Another wonderful benefit for my parents and I is that CollegePlus is only going to cost us a fraction of the cost that my education normally might.
From start to finish, obtaining a bachelor’s degree through CollegePlus typically costs $13,000–$16,000*. This total expense is spread out across the entire schooling period
Compare this to traditional college!
Through doing CollegePlus over the next few years, I will be able to fulfill my high school requirements, have extra time to pursue the interests that I have in preparation for my life, and earn a bachelors by the time I am eighteen, Lord willing!
As summer is approaching and you are considering your schooling plans for this fall, I would encourage you to look into this great program.
Why go through traditional highschool and then have to repeat many of the same classes in college? Why not save the extra time and money and enjoy a taylored college specifically suited for you!
****CollegePlus is giving a brand new iPad 3 to all newly enrolling students in their Bachelor’s Degree Program. The only caveats are that they must apply no later than June 8th and they must enroll by June 22nd. ****
Regardless of your date of enrollment if you use my affiliate code: 884241 you will receive a $50.00 enrollment discount.
I would love to answer any questions you might have or share more with you about our experiences. My mom has been giving an account of our journey through CollegePlus over at A Mother’s Heritage as well.

For some reason when I put in our information, a little window pops up and says this field require, but doesn’t say which field, even though I filled them all in…confused. :/
I cannot get it to work either… I have tried several times over the last few days with no luck. 🙁
I went to the website and found a webpage that “works” for the download book. happy downloading!

thanks stonesoupfarmgirl, but that’s not the book that is offered. The one you posted is one I already have. I don’t know why it is not letting us get the book Homeschooler’s Guide to Dual Credit but that is the one I want. 🙁
