One of the most cheerful scents at Christmas has to be hot cocoa. Try this DIY hot cocoa playdough recipe for a delicious-smelling sensory and creative time for kids.
Homemade playdough is such a fun way to add another dimension to learning. Playdough can be used during lessons for recreating letters and shapes, animals, body systems, and much more.
Recipes are usually very simple and easy to follow, using ingredients found right in your own kitchen. If you have to buy ingredients, they are very common and inexpensive, making DIY playdough a thrifty project.
Kids love to be involved in the kitchen, so invite them to help measure ingredients and mix them together. You may want to spread out a few sheets of newspaper because this activity could get messy!
You’ll need a whole cup of hot cocoa mix for this recipe. You can find inexpensive containers of hot cocoa mix at discount stores, or you can make your own.
Once all of the ingredients are mixed and there is no visible white powder, your playdough is ready. Gather your children’s favorite playdough mats and playdough tools and they will be busy for hours.
Store your playdough in an airtight container to keep it from drying out.
