Sometimes reading comes easily to some people. But, other times, it doesn’t. Learning to read is quite a complex and layered process that involves a lot of factors. But, for your own child, you want to make it as easy and smooth as possible. Check out All About Learning’s Decodable Books: Why They’re Important.
Decodable books are books that only have words with sounds that your child already knows how to read. When you provide your child these types of books during their free reading time, they won’t get caught up in frustration and embarrassment because they can’t read it. If you’re following a phonics program from All About Learning, you can find decodable books for each level. Then, your child can more easily read the provided book, but they can also apply the skills they learned in their phonics lessons! This post also has tips, links to other resources, and more!
