There are many ways to do counting practice with your preschooler or first grader, but Christmas printables are super fun! Print these Christmas counting and playdough mats and let the practice begin.
Counting and number recognition take time and practice for little minds. It helps to have a little bit of fun as they learn.
Counting mats are a versatile tool for kids who are learning about digits and values. They can also be used to practice simple addition and subtraction.
To use these mats, print them on cardstock. Laminate the colored ones, and have your child color and decorate the black and white pages before laminating.
Be sure to have your child color the blank game pieces, too.
Give your child a mat, then have them fill in the correct number of game pieces as they count them out. Counting the pieces helps with teaching the number order and the value of the digit.
As an alternative, use playdough in place of game pieces. Your child can create each digit out of playdough and place it on the mat.
