I would use $500 to get the rest of the supplies and curriculum materials that we’ll need for the school year, then throw a back to homeschooling bash!!! : )

This is my first full year homeschooling my 9th grader and I have made the decision not to go back to work and the money could really come in hand to purchase his curriculum and also to help pay for a missions trip that he is going to be taking!
We just bought a new house which has the perfect room for a school room. I would use the $500 to buy some bookshelves and other items to furnish it.
Not even a little bit school related or exciting, but a necessity…tires for our truck… Thanks for being a blessing to all of us.
We would by our school books for this year, and maybe use the rest to pay some bills.

I would purchase the remaining items for my homeschooling year. Then I would use the rest to build and promote my homeschool services and evaluation business for families statewide in Pennsylvania. That way, all parents across the state have access to dependable, resources, help, guidance and budget-friendly evaluation and testing services.

First off, thank you so much for your wonderful drawings. I know a lot of us can really use these prizes to get the items we need. I would use it to buy a new printer and notebooks for the coming year. After I give the Lord 10%.

I would use the money to buy the curricilum this year money is very tight and to win would be a God send.
I’d use it to buy some Spanish grammar books, and then put the rest towards a couple bikes and/or a family membership to our local rec center so we could exercise as a family.

we need our oil pan and gaskets to be replaced which costs 500$ so… i would have to fix that first since we are a one car family. although, i do believe that any money we get we tithe, so that would be two things: tithe first, oil pan and gaskets second. that might free us up for some MFW toys!!

Winning $500 would be so exciting! There are always all kinds of expenses with home schooling, such as books and school supplies. This year we are trying to broaden our experience by purchasing a used, small pop-up travel trailer so we can visit the John Day Fossil Beds in Eastern Oregon and other rural but educational areas. I’m hoping that we might eventually take it as far as the east coast to visit the places we will study this year in American History and American Government. A home schooling mom can dream, right?!

With $500 I would purchase much needed curriculum which I haven’t been able to afford over the past several years (high schoolers and junior high schoolers). $500 would be great! I have five kids and thought I had all my curriculum purchased and ready to go for the next year, but I discovered that my oldest son is dyslexic. I am over my budget now, so I would definitely us the money for a program to help him, and for the math curriculum that I forgot to add to the budget. 😮

as a new homeschool mom, i would use the money to buy supplies. we have already purchased our curriculum, but i am very hands on, and believe kids learn best by doing and exploring. that money would be used to buy materials and manipulatives that we could use for several years. thanks for this awesome giveaway!

Wow! $500! What would I do? Well, with 6 kiddos that I am homeschooling, we always need supplies. I would use the money to buy some books that we need and to help with our family budget.

I would most likely use it for my upcoming doctor appointment for a cyst that I have on my ovary. This is my second ultrasound and I need to pay some of the bills so that I can maybe afford the surgery if this cyst has grown any bigger or as the doctor says has grown to 5 cm. If I had any thing left over then I could use it to buy my twin boys school supplies. We have not yet started homeschooling them yet and they are still in public school.

If I were to win $500 I would spend it to purchase the rest of my curriculum for the year. We use Tapestry of Grace but I can only afford on unit at a time. I would also use part of it to purchase my younger children would need to participate with us.

I have always joked with my husband that I wish someone would just hand me $500 to just go buy what I need for school. We are a family of 6 living on a pretty limited income and never get to purchase new school school books. My son is in an orchestra that will be playing at Carnegie Hall this year. It costs $2000.00 per student and per chaperone. My husband and I would love to go as chaperones so we can see our son playing at Carnegie Hall but priority one is getting my son there. That $500.00 would cover ¼ of the cost for my son.

We are in desperate need of a new computer. The one we’re using is well over 9 years old! LOL. It’s trudged right along and we’ve made do because we just couldn’t afford to put money into a new one. I would definitely put that $500 towards a computer which will help tremendously for homeschooling.
That money would be helpful for school supplies and shoes. And all those little purchases I have postponed til after my son’s wedding in August. LIttle things like oven mitts-I really need new oven mitts. 🙂
If I won I would use this money to set up a business as part of our school for the year and future years. This would allow my son to pay for his own braces and be a learning experience too.

If I won $500 I would use it for garden supplies/seeds for next year’s Garden. We didn’t get to do it the way we wanted this year because we are moving but, in the fall, we will being planting apple trees and next spring we will finally have a place of our own to have a great garden! My boys will love it and learn so much for the experience!

An extra five hundred dollars would help me buy a few of the fun things I couldn’t afford when I bought our curriculum and allow us to attend the 4 Days in the 4 States coming up in September for homeschoolers. The cost of gas for that is what will probably keep us from going.
I would use the money for school supplies and possibly to buy a camcorder to record short videos that my daughter and I want to get started doing. She loves to act and we just entered a film contest but only had a point and shoot camera with video capability.

I would spend the $500 gift card on school supplies for our back pack ministry at church or donate school supplies to a school. I am a teacher and there are lots of parents out there that cannot afford the supplies that the kids need in school. I always keep extra supplies in the classroom for these students. I don’t think people realize how much of their own money that teachers spend each year on their students alone, much less classroom supplies. That is what I would do if I won.

If I was lucky enough to win the contest, I would spend the money on extras that we unfortunately are not always able to afford. My son is autistic and being able to have some extra money to provide him with sensory friendly environments and activities would be wonderful and so enriching for him
I would buy more teaching tools for my sons math and language lessons. I have an autistic son that is learning at grade level only by home schooling him.
My husband just started a new job with a gigantic cut in pay. So we have spent $0 for school this year. I would probably use it for clothes, diapers, and try to get some great deals to make it stretch as much as possible!

This is our first year schooling at home, so we could use many supplies.
